Transfer Rumour Evan Ferguson

I don't think he's saying that at all. Because a Beto or a Maupay isn't a 10-15 goals guy.

A Richarlison is a clear upgrade on those two but isn't a Lukaku in terms of out and out goals. But he's capable of 10-15. Just to provide an example.
He cost £45m and had scored 5 premier league goals in 37 games when we bought him. A guy who scores 15 goals costs at least £80m.

It's Catch 22, any player without a question mark against them are either too expensive and/or wouldn't dream of joining us. So the only players we can sign have a huge question mark against them for some reason. I think there is a smaller question mark for Ferguson because there is a good body of evidence that he has the talent to be a huge success at this level. I'd sooner take a risk on attitude (which can improve with age, environment and management) over talent (which can't be improved).
I agree with the sentiment mate and agree he is the type of signing we should want.

Just don’t think we should be spending £40m when the squad desperately needs more than just a striker. And essentially, that’s what it would end up being, all our money on him.

It’s clear we don’t have a lot of cash still. And we need more than one position resolved.

Would paint him in a good light I think

Coming here to play, not just for a payday
It's shy my shopping list on players I want contains lads I think the game matters too mate.

We've had scattered ones over the years (Moyes at his best had maybe 5-7 at us at the best at one time) but never a core group of 10-11 all at once (we did in the 80s)

Right now I'd say we have maybe 3-4 tops, Pickford, Branthwaite, Ndiaye

But that’s missing the point. How much did he cost Watford? Thats the point I was trying to make earlier. Other clubs sign them for cheaper and then we wait until they have a good showing and media hyped and offer them tonnes of money.

We need to change the setup and starting getting the players before they make their first move to the PL like Brighton do, like Brentford seem to do etc.

I would love to know what the end game goal of the Chelsea transfer strategy is (assuming they have one). I assume two top players for every position. They are literally playing real life Football Manager with a pipeline of South American and other overseas players coming in as and when they turn 18 the next few seasons. Many of the younger players they already have are on 8-10 year contracts and it is going to become a massive challenge keeping everyone happy and meeting the restrictions for registering players.

Not sure where you’re getting the attitude issue stuff from

The German made it clear there is no problem with Ferguson’s attitude, application, professionalism, lifestyle or character. In fact he made a point of saying the striker is a great character and hard worker.

He also made a point of saying his talent for scoring goals is still clear in training.

But he was honest enough to admit the string of injuries have stunted his progress.

Particularly the injury involving a troublesome ankle that required an operation and also kept him out the last month or so.

There is understandable concern then about what West Ham might be about to get themselves into.”
What did you expect? " He's got a real problem with the Columbian marching powder" said the German manager. "I just hope somebody's stupid enough to pay a load of money for him".

1. Buy all the players so that no one else can buy them.
2. Proceed to neither play them nor loan them out.
3. ?????????
4. Profit by selling a hotel to yourself and release the players so their careers are ruined.
