Of course there’s a political element to it, but to say that’s the sole element to why we consistently do rubbish is naive.

The BBC, for whatever reason, continue to choose artists and productions that don’t suit the model of the competition - it's not a UK Top 40 chart.

Yeah. I mean. The winning Italian band had like 1,2 mio followers on IG pre contest. This British guy has only 20K. Such low profile people..They (bbc people) clearly don't care and are ok with null points.

And no...this doesn't mean Adele and the likes are needed to achieve something. Some indie and still popular names could be sent.

UK's entry sucked as per but, tbf, I doubt they want to host it next year. Was appalled to see that drippy French song storm into a lead with the judge's vote but justice prevailed and well done to Italy. Finland and Ukraine were other highlights for me.

To be fair I don’t think anti English votes were needed. This was the worst song and performance, totally out of tune.

Don't think the UK song was the worst (hello Germany) but it was the blandest and most insipid with a frankly lack lustre singer.

The European side of the Yarrrgh family was taking it very seriously though which is always bizarre but it would appear that appearances are also hugely important to get the votes the further east you go.
