Europe Thread 25/26

Glad it's finally done. Each week has just been prolonging the misery.

Whoever the manager is next season has to treat the cup competitions properly and get a deep run in at least one of them.

We were schooled by West Ham and Sunderland in key games. We drew at Palace. All below us in the league at those points. We did what Moyes sides generally do: hit our heads on his ceiling.
I’m not sure why everything has to be about ‘bottle’? Moyes has qualified for Europe plenty of times in the past. A more straightforward explanation is that our defence has fallen off a cliff since the Branthwaite injury because our other defenders are not good enough.

Yet Moyes has rewarded Keane and Mykolenko with new contracts. Clearly they were good enough for the Moyesiah.

If you don't want it to be about bottle, you need to shine a light on Moyes's judgement - because that's what you're doing if you think the defenders aren't up to it (and I agree, they aren't - but I'm not the one giving them extensions...).

Moyes Out.

Fully agree that Moyes should be held accountable for continuing to play that backline despite their sustained record of conceding two or more goals a game. But I think that is an issue of quality (both of the players and the manager) rather than mentality or bottle.

Hasn’t been a word on that one other than what Fraudizio Romano claimed
