Apologies to start a new thread.
For Info
England will gain 3 places in the Europa League.
5th place automatically
EFL Cup winners
FA Cup winners
The EFL Cup is between Man City and Aston Villa. We all must cheer on City that day to free up 6th
The FA Cup is at R5 stage
The top 3 for CL is near enough done.
FA Cup
1st placed Liverpool
2nd placed City
3rd placed Leicester
4th placed Chelsea
5th placed Tottenham
6th placed Sheffield United
7th placed Man Utd
10th place Arsenal all remain in the comp and only Chelsea v Liverpool means one will be guaranteed to depart. This gives a very high percentage chance of one of these winning the FA Cup, but from a EFC point of view, it would be better if one of the top 5 win the cup to free up 7th.
Wolves in 8th mean that in the event of the top 7 gaining Europe, three teams will miss out, meaning if Sheff Utd and Wolves fade, we must stay ahead of one of Arsenal or United - both of whom we play in the next month.
Man Utd, Wolves and Arsenal are all still in the Europa League.
To confuse matters, if a English team wins the champions league and a English team wins the Europe (we have 4 and 3 left in accordingly) then4th place in the Premier league becomes Europa League and 7th places misses out...……….. Ouch!!
Last season Europa League was at 55 points, meaning we would need 22 points from 13 games, but this season, with runaway leaders means it could be a lot lower.
Of course we need to do our own job.
That passed 10 minutes of my life anyway
Hope that helps
