As above, unlike previous Europa rounds, higher emphasis on winning your group, as you avoid a game against a EL dropout.

First games are play off rounds on 19&26 August.

I’m a fan of the Europa League, I like us being in it. But this, this is pure unadulterated pony.

100% it's a major Trophy mate and we need something to sit alongside our Sport Pesa trophy as well.

I'm not going to turn my nose up if we end up in this. Use it as a development tournament for fringe players and youngsters. Better than sending them out on loan to sit on the bench somewhere.

Teams can drop out of the higher tournaments so there will still be a handful of good teams who end up in this. There will be some woeful sides but some good ones too.

Genuinely curious, what do you want then, for Everton? We're not competing for a title, and we've got to be asking for more than 8th every season.

It's another shot at a trophy, and gives us a further year in Europe if we win it.

We’ve won one European trophy in our history.

This is a very good competition for us to be a part of.

We aren’t very good.

As much as this will probably be a crap competition, if we’re in it then we should probably take it seriously. We haven’t been in Europe for a few years, and earning uefa coefficient points would come in handy for seeding, if we were to qualify for the Champions League or Europa League in the next couple of seasons.

What do you get qualification to the europa league for winning it? Not that it's a huge incentive.
