Any competition that means we start competitive games early on top of the Euros is just bad news to me. We haven’t got the squad for it. We’d be basically writing off next season just for a couple of away days none of us could even go and enjoy.

Club needs to get into the permanent rhythm of European mid-week football. If this league gives us that opportunity, then it's a good thing.

You can't 'want' European football, and then as soon as it comes you start worrying about injuries and depth.

And even if your not you wouldn't be playing any of the lads who go the euros. You'd likely be up against Latvian farmers so could have a mixed team out.

Any excuse to get in Europe is essential for me.

I'd just do what arsenal do and play mixed teams until you get to a decent stage and then you can start playing the big guns.

To anyone saying that we'd be playing in June/July with this competition you're totally wrong. We'd enter at the play-off stage in mid August, we're talking just two extra games here.

I for one am looking forward to watching some scabby 0-0 draw away to the Kazakhstan champions

edit: turns out the Kazakhstan champs are too good for this competition and actually play in the champs league/europa lol

I doubt the club will be fussed, for them it’s a money maker. I suppose it’s good for the fans who travel away, if they’re allowed. Also I don’t think we should be turning our noses up at it really, wether we like it or not it’s actually progress for the club.

I do think we should be going all out for top 6 now to be honest. I’m coming round to the idea that this would be better than no Europe at all, but I still wouldn’t be taking this competition too seriously if we were in it. Europa League is the level we need to be at.

First game is after the start of the season.

First game of the season is scheduled for 14th August and play off dates are 19th and 26th August.

Doesn't sound like much seeding going on here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Europa_Conference_League

Maybe we come in for Play-Off Round if we finish 6th? But that goes into group stages with EL play-off losers included so would be before EL starts.

All rated on coefficients, and based on the sides who are in this competition, i'd be very shocked if we're not seeded for the play-offs, and in pot 1 for the draw, meaning we'd probably have a nice easy run, to win a group with full rotation before taking it more seriously in L16.
