We are still being told that the world is laughing at us - the same shrill Twitter voices that told us we couldn't survive, the same media that painted us all as racists and idiots. The same people who forgot that the country extends beyond the M25.

The world is not laughing at us. The world - the peoples of the world - are once again looking at us in wonder. They have been reminded once again that the people of England are unique. And the curious part of it is, it wasn't them who needed reminding, it was us. The people of Europe, who have always wanted to be free, have looked to us again, when the odds were stacked against us. And we have delivered. God Save The Queen.

I am not laughing at you...I am just shaking my head. Seems a stupid move IMO. Hopefully Scotland, Wales, and NI do their own referendum and you can be the United Kingdom of England.

Good luck though.

Your right, they did and I think there's a herd mentality that is just part of human nature. It was more a reference to preying on the fears of the most vulnerable to further a political goal/nationalist ideal.
Your mind is made up and thats fine but I'd be very cautious about holding Farage up as a roll model for a sensible Brexit argument. He's a one trick pony who trades in fear to achieve a short term goal with no concrete foundation in nation building. He's a puppet trotted out by half the tory party to do their dirty work.

So it wasn't herd mentality by the 16-odd million who voted to Remain? You contention is as valid for one as for the other...

Yeah, I voted out, for reasons I have previously stated. The problem I perceive with the Remain voters is that they cannot stomach the facts concerning the EU, and how it has turned into a dictatorial regime with no respect or recognition for individual nation states. Keep on burying your head in the sand...

Sometimes you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone.

Do you realise the price of food in the UK will probably jump by up to 40%? No more subsidies.

It happened in NZ

I would be laughing but I stand to loose a bit from the inevitable hit to the Irish economy as well as the possibility of a new hard border dragging the country back to a place I thought we'd never see again. But hey GSTQ yay!

She's the Queen of Northern Ireland and Scotland too, both of whom voted remain. So this is all about England?

If by unique, you mean unique in the way we can swallow lies, then we are absolutely unique. If by unique, you mean unique in the way we can blindly follow the campaign of idiots and come out the other side scratching our heads then again, I have to agree with you.

They are looking at us in wonder in as much as wonderment at how to balls something up. Our economy is taking, and will continue to take the hit. There is no plan as to what to do next. Our next PM is Boris Johnson, who is totally blagging it. I'm looking at this country in wonder too, mate.

The same Wales who also voted for Brexit? The same Scotland who just over a year ago voted to remain a part of the United Kingdom and would do so again despite what some media outlets would have you believe. Northern Ireland? put it this way, I wouldn't want to be the person to tell the loyalists that they had to leave the UK! And I for one certainly wouldn't lose any sleep if they did go.

Yes, but if Scotland held that vote today, they'd be off if they knew they'd be in the EU. So keep your Wales...

You know lots of Scots on a personal basis do you? And for the last time they wouldn't be part of the EU! The lovely club in Brussels have already made that perfectly clear.
