I think he was probably up there with the worst of the lot in terms of value. Think we paid £20m+, he had about half a dozen good games over 2 years in which we finished 10th and 16th and then left on a free. It's those deals that make people scared of us spending money.

Id put our chances of getting him at 10%. Strikes me as a Thelwell player but who knows what kind of internal politics is going on now - whether Moyes wants more control over transfers, whether TFG also want a say. I would be less surprised if Willian came in over him

He also just wasn't very good. On top of the fact nobody else wanted him and he had publically fell out of favour at Napoli it beggars belief we somehow spent over 20 mill on him

We know Gnonto isnt doing the business in the championship, at least not how a good PL-level player should. Id rather try an unknown, than someone not very impressive. Never understood why people want him here.

I agree Allan was rubbish and gets protected because he was an Ancelotti signing.
