he is a very negative captain but i think this is more to do with not upsetting the 7/4 balance. would have dropped bresnan for finn myself, mind i would have done it yonks ago. bresnan's a terrific player, great when playing agains the middle to lower test nations, but when you look at that SA batting line-up it's a massive step up and he won't take enough wickets. if they were happy with upsetting the balance, bringing in finn for bopara probs would have made more sence.

Hes done a really good job for england, but his instincts are negitive ones, and it lets us down, agree totally on bresnan, but Strauss appears to be a little obsessed with bolstering the batting, you have to back yourselves to perform, dont get me wrong I think James Taylor is a real talent and should of been ahead of Bopara anyway, but if you want four seamers then you have to be brave enough to go with a five man attack.

This is the sort of match where Chris Tremlett would have been so valuable, can only hope he makes a full recovery.

takes after his fat belter of a captain, cloud coming in just as were getting thru them, looks we will suceed in giving them the best f the conditions, just cant fathom winning the toss and putting them in, even if we havnt got a spinner
