Just looking at our fixtures and it looks like Spurs was the only away game we will play against a top team this year therefore the only big team we will get maximum benefit from these covid restrictions from, because no doubt playing away at empty stadiums helps the cause.

The Goodison games this year are against the bigger teams are

Liverpool
United
Chelsea
Arsenal
City

Obviously that means we play more of the so called lesser teams in their empty stadiums but if we are to achieve anything this season we really need to be looking at the 6 pointers.

Thoughts?

(This is all under the assumption that fans will be allowed back next year and we have to play at their full stadiums)

Surely the premier league should have looked at the fixtures post lockdown. We had to play Leicester, RS, Villa Saints and Bournemouth at home with no crowds. Surely we should be playing these teams away from home first with the crowd restrictions still in place or is that too simplistic.

In theory it would make sense, apart from Bournemouth ofcourse, but I guess they are judging it as a new season.

Wasn't this topic done to death when the fixtures came out?

A lot didn't appreciate the conversation at the time and just brushed it off with the usual "we play everyone twice"

The fixture list this year was the most important and we did get a rough deal unfortunately - all the main 'Category A' home games when no fans.

Oh I agree that we got far from a fair shake.

It's a tough one, really the only fair thing to do is play the entire season behind closed doors but then that would also be terrible.

If a certain amount of fans are allowed in, how would that be decided ? A ballot ? The option to defer your season ticket ?
Having seen the NFL this weekend have some fans in, spaced out in the stadiums, it certainly looks manageable, no idea if it worked though.

Only way to know is to check if some of those people are dead in 3 weeks time.

Wasn’t there talk of EFC not letting a percentage of fans in until all fans Are allowed back or was that just a rumour?

Depressing listening to that fake crowd tv noise.

Really? Have you seen the state of the covid numbers in Liverpool?
See they might but it might be regional, Big Joe Anderson might pull the plug, be funny if he does the week Liverpool are at home, the fume would be hilarious
