Used to love Nu NRG.
Giuseppe Ottaviani was one half of them I believe and went on to produce some tunes with Solarstone under the PureNRG alias

When I started listening to DnB in the late 90s, his and Dillinja’s sound felt a bit stale. Only in the last 10 years or so started to listen to the earlier releases.

Think he was a happy hardcore DJ previously right? Like Grooverider etc

Ah interesting - I wasn't around at the time so only got into him retrospectively, so his jungle output still sounds fresh to me whereas his breaks-y/hardcore crossover stuff from the early 90s (like most releases from that period) sounds quite dated due to the nature of the samples used in these productions.
