Player Valuation: £30m
No, not down to sangria but Europa League hangovers. And no, not down to good or bad lagers either.

Lille away, 23rd October. Burnley away 26th October.

Which got me thinking, (actually what got me thinking was looking at the christmas schedule and seeing Saints away on the 20th December, Stoke at home boxing day then Newcastle away on the 28th - so both ends of the country in a week sandwiching the Stoke bruisers)

Lille home, 6th November. Sunderland away 9th November.
Wolfsburg away 27th Nov, Spurs away 30th Nov.
Krasnodar home 11th December, QPR home 15th Dec.

Just a quick check....

Wolfsburg home 18th Sept, Palace home 21st Sept.
Krasnodar away 2nd Oct, Manu away (12pm) 5th Oct.

Not sure and not going to research the other sides in the competition. Hopefully we do enough in the two games vs Lille so that the final two matches are dead rubbers. (Johnny jokes aside ta).

I remember a new years day game at Stoke a few years back, think that Kenwynne Jones scored for them, anyhow I'd had a mad one the night before and really was in no fit state for it,saw this apparition in front of me of a horses head sat on the row in front, thought I was bloody hallucinating, was quite a relief when I saw the horse again at another game when I was sober a few weeks later!:D

Were we suffering today? Did we look leggy, a bit jaded, under the weather? Only one side that played midweek won this weekend. A lot of people bang on about Euro commitments reinforcing the notion of the 'squad game' but is there more to it than just a few extra bodies?

Yeah, it's a mental thing. Playing mid-week gives the players an excuse to think avoiding defeat is a good result.

i think its the missed training that hurts the most, less time to work out tactics/set pieces/how to play against the next opposition

not an excuse, but it is a reason we might be struggling instead of fatigue

You could be right , a plan B wouldn't have gone a miss also , their defence had wes brown in it for f*** sake get lukaku eto'o and naisy in the box and hit a few early crosses in. Old style I know, but do we need to play impoosible give and go's all game in a packed area.
