He's played them perfectly. Stroking their egos with all the 'family club' 'immense tradition' bull**** that they lap up.

They've been mugged off by a con man. It's completely hilarious.

that really is all he's done isn't it. Oh and the red nets thing. No other set of fans would fall such obvious hooey. I remember someone saying he got 'goosebumps' after watching Brent's first press conference because he was babbling on about his 'filosofee'. Just totally and utterly weird.

difference is we'll get to the cliff edge and soar off into the sunset on our beautifully designed Lukaku powered hand-glider that is in the shape of Martinez's face

I am 100% supportive of adopting a massive kopite-style banner covering the whole of the gwladys str end so long as it was an illustration of this

Rodgers today in the Echo.

“Looking at the bigger picture, when we went into the Fulham game we had a target of points for the next five games,” Rodgers added. “If we get our two home wins (against Norwich on Wednesday and West Ham on Saturday) that will keep us on course for that, which is two points a game. That points total should get us to where we want to arrive."

Can anyone work out what calculations this fool was making in his 5 match period points target from Fulham at home through to West Ham at home? He seems to be suggesting they had a 10 point from 15 possible target for those games, which means that he factored in at least a defeat to us in the Derby.

Unless I've read that incorrectly he's factored in a defeat and a draw into five matches.

Very ambitious.

In his own way, which is the way of someone who has learned English qute recently by half-watching episodes of Friends, he was simply trying to say that the general aim is to average two points a game for the season, but then he cocked it all up when he remembered that after the next two (which will be a considerable failure if they don't get six points) home games he has three tricky ones he obviously believes will undermine his 'target'.

I remember a similar sort of hedging strategy in the past... something to do with knives and fights...

He was just saying that sometimes if you aim for two points and you end up with one point then it can cause you a problem. It's when you're aiming for three points and you end up with one point and then two points that you really need to start worrying though. If you pick up the one point before the two points you can then leave yourself exposed when you're looking for the next three points and end up with no points.

What's the Pointless answer then Mr Browns?

Being totally honest and what I said to a red****e this morning, they could be six points ahead of us after the next two games. Hopefully they are not, but lets be real, we have two of the hardest back to back away games you could wish for and we would be looking to get six points against Norwich and WHU as they are

We will end up ahead of them then.....

Doesn't matter tbh. We'll overtake them by January.

After the tough upcoming games we have:

Fulham (H)
Swansea (A)
Sunderland (H)
Southampton (H)

Liverpool have:

Spurs (A)
Cardiff (H)
City (A)
Chelsea (A)

They'll be lucky to get three points from that lot, while we should be looking at 9 minimum.
