That points total should get us to where we want to arrive."

Can anyone work out what calculations this fool was making in his 5 match period points target from Fulham at home through to West Ham at home? He seems to be suggesting they had a 10 point from 15 possible target for those games, which means that he factored in at least a defeat to us in the Derby.

Unless I've read that incorrectly he's factored in a defeat and a draw into five matches.

Very ambitious.

In his own way, which is the way of someone who has learned English qute recently by half-watching episodes of Friends, he was simply trying to say that the general aim is to average two points a game for the season, but then he cocked it all up when he remembered that after the next two (which will be a considerable failure if they don't get six points) home games he has three tricky ones he obviously believes will undermine his 'target'.

I remember a similar sort of hedging strategy in the past... something to do with knives and fights...

Being totally honest and what I said to a red****e this morning, they could be six points ahead of us after the next two games. Hopefully they are not, but lets be real, we have two of the hardest back to back away games you could wish for and we would be looking to get six points against Norwich and WHU as they are

Doesn't matter tbh. We'll overtake them by January.

Swansea (A)
Sunderland (H)
Southampton (H)

Liverpool have:

Spurs (A)
Cardiff (H)
City (A)
Chelsea (A)

They'll be lucky to get three points from that lot, while we should be looking at 9 minimum.
