May have been covered, but Joe Cole has cost Liverpool £21 million!!!

They have paid him £3 million to leave, and will pay £50k a week of his wages, for 18 months, West Ham only paying £30k a week!!!

You're missing the point mate, he might have been on £92K p.w. & got a £3M signing on fee, but he was a free transfer & by paying him £3.9M to **** off, they've saved £3M.............

There is a lot of progressing to do because we're 10th in the table and this is a club which wants to be at the very top but the only way you can do that is by reconstruction of the work and building the squad.

"That is what is going to take a bit of time. I always say it's like a good meal - I'm not a great cook but a good meal takes a wee bit of time but also to offer a good meal you need good ingredients.

People just don't understand that any deal by libberpool is always a good one for the club. I expect that when they sell the pony for £10M they will claim they made a profit..........

Jamie Carragher.....

"Arsene Wenger's reputation will stand the test of time and he has produced some of the finest teams in Premier League history.

But, as he heads in to Sunday's FA Cup tie with Swansea, Wenger is approaching the juncture where he needs a 'Bill Shankly moment' to define his Arsenal career.

Let me explain: when Shankly was Liverpool manager, it often gets forgotten that, for all the fantastic work he did building the club up, he went seven years without winning a major trophy.

After winning the League in 1966, Shankly had to wait until 1973 for the trophy cabinet to be re-opened after he masterminded a First Division-UEFA Cup double; 12 months later he won the FA Cup again and promptly retired."

I just love the way all of the RS make reference back to Bill Shankly, considering that he had retired 7 years before Carragher was born and had died when young Jamie was 3. Brenda does the same all the time yet he was just 1 year old when Shanks retired. I cannot abide these people who keep trading on the back of a manager that they never knew or had even seen......

cant wait for them to turn on sewers when he pulls out a transfer request
not as optimistic as some that it will be in the summer, but it will happen eventually

If you got Linekered* out on the right wing you'd be none too happy as well.

* pay a fking huge sum for one of the top scorers in a big competition (say in a World Cup) and shove him out on the wing - oh hang on I guess that's what Brentan's doing with Sewerage.. or was he just around the corner (like his transfer request will be)?
