Unfortunately for him, video refereeing would not have helped them. It would have shown it was a definite penalty, possibly a red card for Lovren. It would have shown a free kick and a yellow (at most) for Sigurdsson and probably a red card for Gomez after about 20 minutes. It would have also shown their goal to be disallowed for a push.
So essentially they'd have been 1-0 own with 10 men, quite possibly 9 men facing 11. They got very lucky it hasn't been brought in, but he makes an interesting point.
