I remember you'd only get about 15 secs of actual commentary per minute with the crackling reception coming and going. Sometimes there'd be a goal and you'd have to wait until the reception came back to see who scored.

Best radio reception was for midweek night game when the weather was cold and clear - still used to have to endure some strange foreign station nosing in every so often.
Mind you, the late great Philip Greene on RTE was similar...not because of poor reception

I remember Dundalk v Linfield when he said something like "Reliable sources tell me there is a goal"....his view blocked by burly Gardai in riot gear standing in front of the commentary box.

I genuinely think most 'fans' that go to Anfield don't actually 'support' Liverpool, they just try to out 'support' each other - genuinely like a cult.

Just seen some bloke with the purple shirt on, purple hair and beard - and glitter eye makeup like he's been to Glastonbury.
