ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

It’s still rather amusing that the cl is the competition that the scab 6 and their slimy foreign mates wanted to kill, along with their domestic leagues, but now as the mighty peds are in the final and second in the league, they are both amazing competitions.

The cl is a plassy competition for plassy fans, and the premier league and the other domestic leagues are irrevocably damaged because of their actions.

Football died when these scumbags tried to form the ESL, but their plassy glory hunting gobshite fans can’t even admit it.

The Champions league stopped being the "Champions" league years ago, when money and greed took over and it became an abomination, where any of the top 4/5 can enter it.

Nah, football died when we allowed oligarchs and countries own clubs, funnelling in billions and hyping transfer fees to a point that anything below 8 figures is considered cheap. The ESL was a symptom of its decline, not the cause.

My much younger brother unfortunately is afflicted by red sh1teness, he was brought up in the wilderness of Bolton / Blackburn, he txt me last night, "we are off to Paris YNWA".
The melt has been to Anfield once in his life, that's only because I gave him a lift as he was on a ground tour, he has only seen them live when they have played pre season at Blackburn.
Apparently, can't get tickets for games at the pit.
Told him that he better Feck off, ,I'm in no humour lately.

Fair comments fellas - can’t argue, suppose the ESL was the final nail in the coffin.

and it becomes fixed so that the same teamster given easier routes to the final stages, effectively giving them a massive ongoing financial leg-up and two legs taking the jeopardy out of ties. its boring.

It's like winning the league by just playing West Ham, Arsenal, and Wolves.

Hopefully the final they get an actual test and fail miserably.
No, not lucky at all
2017-2018 Pot 3 22nd rank of 32

Drew Spartak Moscow (Pot 1 7 of 8), Seville (Pot 2, 12), Maribor (30th) - in other words teams Ranked 7th, 5th and 6th of 8 in respective pot whilst only ranked 6th in their own

Rof 16 Porto (lowest Coefficient of 6 possible opponents)
QF Man City (lowest Coefficient (that season) of 7 possible opponents)
SF Roma (lowest Coefficient of 3 possible opponents)

The equivalent of Bournemouth (this season's standing) beating: West Ham, Villa, Millwall, Southampton, Brentford and Forest before losing to Man City in the final.

2018-2019

Pot 3 17th ranked

Leeds United (17th currently)

Drew PSG (Coefficient 6th of 7 potential opponents), Napoli (5th of 6 potential opponents), Red Star (7th of 8)
Finished 2nd having lost all three away games. Drew Bayern (3rd of 6) Porto (4th of 7 potential opponents)

Based on Co-efficient - equivalent of Leeds winning cup beating: West Ham, Brentford, Coventry, Arsenal, Newcastle, Chelsea and Southampton

Not forgetting the ridiculous penalty award in the final nor the inclusion of Sturridge on the bench.

2021-22

Once again, after a tough group draw they pull off the amazing lucky route.. with Benfica - the only team not in the top 10 rankings they could have met (22nd compared with 1,2,3,4,5 and 9!!) and a semi against lowest ranked Villarreal (as opposed to City or Real Madrid)

Remember also that they were on for an easier draws in the knockout round if it wasn’t for uefa messing up their attempts to rig the draw. They would have drawn Sporting Lisbon, the easiest team in the comp at the time. So it would have been Lisbon Benfica Villarreal, the easiest possible path to the final.

Chelsea (Real) United (Atletico), City (Atletico, Real) all eventually hit a tough side. Even Villarreal had Juve and Bayern before the RS.

Been a cruise for them this year.

At least the final maybe entertaining compared to one of the worst finals I've ever seen that was Spurs v Them

I’d bank on Madrid going through with some dodgy refereeing tonight.

Uefa want their two biggest cash cows for tv revenue in the final and they are one game away from getting it. Those covid losses aren’t going to claw themselves back.

I think football got the death blow when it was bought out by sky.
The match going fans became of no importance, all was set up for the plastic armchair glory hunters.

I tend to agree with that. Yet another final between a couple of English teams will not have a strong European appeal.
Real Madrid do have a massive world wide fan base just like the rs.
