ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Because, apparently, they don't have 14 players available over three squads whereas we do.
Just watched Benitez's press conference. He's not happy. We asked for the Burnley game to be called off. PL said no. 5 more players tested positive after the Chelsea match but the young players are considered experienced enough to play. He also said he might have to play DCL for the whole 90 minutes.

I will applaud Klopp for speaking up about the fixture congestion in the PL and concerns for player welfare. Something had to be said about this.

He’s a horrible, hypocritical, referee bullying, attention seeking bellend.

If he doesn’t like a fixture schedule which has been in place for over 100 years then he can eff off back to Germany

Mate it was literally only a week ago he stated that there was no real need to postpone fixtures. Then, right off the back of a less-than-favorable result in the next game, the narrative suddenly flips to 'player welfare'.

The guy is a massive hypocrite.

I'm not disputing his hypocrisy and arrogance as a manager.

But he has a very valid point. If your only reasoning for the intense fixtures schedule during a pandemic is tradition, then that's absolutely pathetic and selfish. There are loads of things that were legalized in the 19th century that are no longer valid for 2021, as society has moved on from many things. In Spain, bullfighting was the tradition yet many Spanish states in recent times have banned the sport. Especially during the context of long covid infections, we may start to see more serious injuries like we already have with Aguero and Eriksen.

Btw that's the most brexit post I've seen on this place. Klopp, being a foreigner, is able to see how backwards and outdated this whole "festive season" fixtures are and how it endangers the player welfare. Klopp isn't the first manager to complain about this whole thing; Pep, Conte, Mourinho, Tuchel have all done it.

Does klopp want to win? If the answer is yes then he can STFU about fixture congestion, with winning comes success with success comes extra games, if he's overly concerned about fixture pileups then why not just finish 9th and put out the youths in Cup games.. he'll see his fixture list dry up in quick time..

Festive fixtures are part of the appeal of the English league.

It's not a barbaric tradition like circumcision or religion.
