ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Its just typical RS luck that when they get a great side, Barca, Real Madrid , the Milans etc are all going through turbulent times.
Those teams all won cups when the PL wasn't as strong.

Football goes in circles especially in Europe, Italy hasn't won a CL since Inter in 2010, Madrid and Barca won the CL when the PL, Serie A was weak and Bayern won one out of that 6 year span when those 2 Spanish teams had stranglehold on the competition, those 2 Spanish teams had it so good.

It's the PL time now to be top of the food chain in Europe, it's like the dominant period England had when English clubs had the European Cup for 6 years in a row from 1977 to 1982.

No better time for Pep and City after a 5 year spend of £950 million to finally win one in these "turbulent times".

I think we're happier with three league titles, an FA Cup and four League Cups in that time. Certainly take it over one CL and one league title when the integrity of the season had been destroyed and nobody was allowed to attend the trophy presentation.

Being somewhat selective there. The RS got to the final and won it in 1984 so why not say 1977 to 1984. Maybe that is a bit too close to 1985 when the same team got to the final again but brought shame on the whole country.

Yeah i agree there Mate, a full season of no fans but allowing 10000 fans in the final home game to see the trophy presentation really brought integrity to the season.

Great post.;)

Who decided their group was the "group of death"? Porto roll over every time they play them, which is every season. Granted Atleti are good team, and Milan whos best player is 40 odd years old who crawls around pretending to be a lion.

The rs media team named it group of death, so it was a huge achievement to win every game.
