ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

What I noticed was this:

Liverpool have collected "substantial evidence" after Manchester City made a complaint alleging a home fan spat at their backroom staff in the first half of the 2-2 draw at Anfield on Sunday.

Not sure I would have fancied that job.

Liverpool echo goes with:

After intensive scrutiny the RS have uncovered that it was actually an Everton fan who had sneaked in amongst RS supporters.

Nailed on the lad gets away with it and is hailed a hero, he will invent a medical problem that caused it, bit like Roy Hattersley in Spitting Image

He didn’t bottle it, he had absolutely zero intention of giving it. There’s no scenario where Liverpool go down to ten men and lose the game, both teams know it and the ref knows it. He didn’t even consider the Foden penalty and just waved away the red card. It was all geared up for a Liverpool win. Matip’s deflection stopped them ruling out De Bruyne’s goal for being offside.

The entire fixture list has been set up for them. City having Spurs Leicester Chelsea Liverpool in the first four away games? They’re the 4 hardest away games for City. Liverpool meanwhile playing bottom of the table fodder and their nearest challengers at home. It was all set up for Liverpool to be sitting on a 9 or 10 point lead over City now. The PL will be fuming it’s not turned out that way yet like it did in 19/20.

They’ve also put the Anfield derby near the end of the season so that can be the crowning moment for them.

They have the 3rd biggest wage bill on top football, so of course they get top 4. It would almost be impossible not to get top 4. I have to say, Salah is carrying them a fair bit now, I do wonder if he has a huge offer from another team to leave, but that's a slight side.

In terms of their start, they will be underwhelmed. They've had 2 tough games, both at home and 5 easy games. They start quickly under Klopp and tend to dip mid season. This is the best they will be, and they are not top, and not clear.

City tend to get stronger through a season (I seem to remember them being about 8th when Liverpool were 1st last season, and easily overtaking them). Chelsea will also get stronger as the new players settle in and confidence grows, as you sense will United as the new signings bed in (and maybe even get a proper manager to replace OGS). United getting Maguire back will also make a huge difference.

They have to go to Chelsea and City, they led twice in one game, and played against 10 with a man advantage in the other, and got 0 wins. That will be a 6 point handicap for them when the reverse fixtures are played as well.

No there isn’t, at least I hope not, because he’ll be 30 in June and they’d get £200m for him off some idiots like Real Madrid and then stumble upon a 23 year old version of him as a replacement.

Yeah a long term contract on mega money followed by a swift decline would be the bests option for us with Salah. Hopefully Madrid are after Mbappe and everyone else is broke. Wouldn’t want PSG throwing the Mbappe money at Salah though.

Mbappe is going to Madrid on a free, which makes me think Madrid could just throw that spare £200m they somehow had lying around in the summer at Salah next year. Hopefully not, because that money would be the springboard to build the next Big Red machine with 3 more £40m world class strikers.

Some absolute whopper (think it was Darren Bent) on talkSPORT this morning claiming that Salad will be just as good aged 38!!!

…so RS, please sign him on £500k a week for 5 long injury prone years!

The RS are banking on outscoring teams at the minute. Salah has the midas touch but it will run out one day. If he picks up a 6 week injury that could be 10-12 points dropped. Fabinho holds the midfield together which is why it was stupid moving him to CB last year as it resulted in both defence and midfield being weakened. They got away with it because Rodgers is a bottler and us and Spurs didn't seem to know how to get over the line. The snook 4th and it probably saved them having to consider offers for Salah as he would want CL football and they would need to balance the books.

I had a brief 'chat' with one RS tourist from Belgium in the town centre on Saturday.

I don't think he was impressed with me.

These tourist are funny, one of my mates from Liverpool works in Norway, old red, when people find out he is from Liverpool he tells them he isnt interested in football because in the past ones have found out he supports Liverpool and they proper wont leave him alone, total mentalists.
