ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

If we are putting up a plaque at the new stadium to highlight slavery perhaps their new stand could be made completely from atrocity plaques.

If they want to compete with City this is the sort of outside the box thinking that's required.

7 games in and talking about who's gonna win the title already is hilarious, loads of potential permutations yet, even more hilarious is predicting results that are months away like they are forgone conclusion already.

93 points to play for, both teams could have been beaten today, Chelsea could have easily dropped points yesterday, United have OGS still but they have a clutch player like Ronaldo who can carry them but maybe that brutal Oct/Nov could be the making or breaking of them.

All 4 teams have strengths and weaknesses, football is a funny old game like they say and maybe a team no one is mentioning could go under the radar on a monster run like Leicester after xmas a few years ago when all the big teams dropped like flies in the 2nd half of the season, maybe Rafael could do a Ranieri.

Start talking about who the title contenders are in the new year after 18-19 games when you start to see the gaps between the title contenders, the mid table fodder and the relegation candidates, after 7 games is just plain naive and laughable.

I mean, it's a forum, so people make comments. We are a point behind, having had a harder start and more away games, but I can say we are bit in the hunt, but that would be ludicrous. Even after 7 games you can say that.

I felt Liverpool had an outside chance at the start of the season, but they needed to start well and get points ahead. They had a great chance with 2 home games against rivals, which have been blown.

When the mid season blip comes, aided by the AFCON, I sense we see a repeat of last season (perhaps less dramatically). Only a matter of time until Matip gets injured, and I have to say, Gomez has looked woeful for them thus far. He has gone backwards.

I see them competing with United for 3rd. United have a much better team/squad, especially when Maguire returns, but we all know OGS is an Achilles heel. If they get a proper manager in, they will be very competitive.

City will improve through the season as they tend too, and as Chelsea gain more familiarity they will get stronger too. Everyone can see they are the top 2 teams, by some distance.

Obsessed. Cockwomble alert.

African nations, PL clubs will only miss them for 2 PL games and the Fa Cup 3rd round tie which is in the middle of a 14-16 day gap in PL fixtures.

So many crystal ball posts when the season isn't even 10 games in, games predicted, injuries predicted, form of players, manager's positions all predicted already when the season ends in EIGHT months time.

I don't think it will be a high 90 something points total, it will be around 85-88 points, so the title winners could have room to lose 5-6 games.

Still can't believe milner never got a second yellow you know, one of the easiest decisions the ref will ever have to make and he bottled it

He didn’t bottle it, he had absolutely zero intention of giving it. There’s no scenario where Liverpool go down to ten men and lose the game, both teams know it and the ref knows it. He didn’t even consider the Foden penalty and just waved away the red card. It was all geared up for a Liverpool win. Matip’s deflection stopped them ruling out De Bruyne’s goal for being offside.

The entire fixture list has been set up for them. City having Spurs Leicester Chelsea Liverpool in the first four away games? They’re the 4 hardest away games for City. Liverpool meanwhile playing bottom of the table fodder and their nearest challengers at home. It was all set up for Liverpool to be sitting on a 9 or 10 point lead over City now. The PL will be fuming it’s not turned out that way yet like it did in 19/20.

You're doing what you are calling other people out for. Soft get. Conclusion, you are a cockwomble.

It's the lagging effect of extra games, travel etc with the AFCON. It will catch up with players.

You then seem to be annoyed at people making predictions, before making your own predictions about how many points it will take to win the league, and how many games can afford to be lost. I'm sure the irony will be lost on you with that though!

Do you think the RS will get within spitting distance of the title?

Is your last sentence not a prediction, how dare you predict what the points total will be, a wise man once said that the season ends in EIGHT months time.
