Wait.....what?

A defender got in the team of the week while playing against 10 men for 45 minutes? I didn't watch the game but how bad were the rest of the team to have to rely on a team of the week performance from the centre back?

It is a rhetorical question, by the way. I know that he is in there just so Crooks can get a reach around from a kopite if he ever sees one on person.

How anyone with any sense can take him seriously writing such guff:

"The Netherlands international is slowly but surely coming back to the boil. Not only is he commanding his own penalty area again, he is venturing forward more and becoming a threat in the opposition box. Defenders like Van Dijk come around once in a generation"

Mate? He's in the same generation as a host of top class defenders you utter wallop.

He's a complete tit but I do enjoy the utter bollocks he spouts. A bit like B movie Sci fi films - so bad they're good. ? ?

It's funny that this alleged once in a generation defender has won a grand total of 1 league title in one of the top leagues in his entire career. At international level, has he even gone past the quarter finals? He plays for a top national as well.

Where does that leave all the defenders who have won multiple league titles?
 
At Celtic Van Dijk is a good defender, at Southampton he's a good defender, joins the RS and in the eyes of bellend pundits like Crooks he immediately becomes 'world class' and the best centre - half that has ever played the game. it's just another example of a pundit getting well and truly up the arse of the RS to get the plaudits off their fans.
