I was told the reason.

Clearly its not my place to share what was said in private.

Im aware thats a useless thing to say.

But thats my postion.

But no, Moyes didnt call him a dirty little Dutch midget, Moyes did infact punish him for breaking Club rules on the eve of the biggest game of the Season.

It's pretty obvious, although it didn't involve drink or the other, must have been a curfew.

"we don't have anywhere near the funds of Man U so it's far easier for them to stand on 'principle'. "

Who stands on what principle?

If Drenthe was so unfocused as to break team rules on the eve of the biggest game of the season, then what makes anyone think he would have been focused enough to make an impact on the game? If you can't be arsed to show up on time, or whatever he did, then he can't be arsed to put in a shift at Wembley.

Being angry at Moyes (for this anyway), and not Drenthe is completely backwards. He let all of us down. There's the door kid.

Fair enough.

It REALLY ISNT the first incident .

NOR THE Second , Third , Fourth OR FIFTH , in TOTAL Honesty ...

Thus , IT DONT MATTER WHETHER The Club are Harsh or Indulgent .. You KEEP Breaking Rules - IRRESPECTIVE of Your Feelings Towards them , an' those MAKING THOSE RULES PAY YOUR WAGES , ... Then , YOU Sir , ARE IN THE WRONG ...

End Of for me ...

LCAB, i just wish you'd give us more detail in your posts rather than feeding us these morsels!

If he has been consistenly a bad boy then he has to go, no doubt about it. That doesn't change my opinion that taking this action BEFORE rather than AFTER yesterday's game was a monumental blunder that quite possibly cost us the match, because his ball control is something that we SORELY needed. And if he's been sacked, why the fcuk doesn't the OS just SAY so and end all this speculation?

Until it's been officially announced that Drenthe has been suspended / sacked for bad behaviour, i'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

But to anyone saying let him go to the RS if he wants, let's just remember that whether or not Drenthe and Sua*rez are sh*ts of the highest order, they have talent that will (literally) run rings around almost our entire squad, and that talent wins matches and - dare i say it?? - trophies.

Because apparently he's been doing it all season and it hasn't made a blind bit of difference to his performance.

We cant afford to pass on these players at vital moments...not if you're serious about winning a game you cant.

Did Moyes not know all that when he signed him on? He must pretty clueless if he didn't because the rest of world football did.

I could give a flying **** about Drenthe tbh, all players are hired help who you use to further the organisation with as far as I'm concerned...most of them are self-serving pricks. But just get a performance out of Roy and then do what you want afterwards. Seems reasonable enough to me, especially by all accounts if he's been a problem all season with these tricks - why cut him loose yesterday of all days when he could have done a crucial job?

Moyes deserves to be under the microscope for that one. No ifs or buts.

Maybe Moyes had punished him previously and given him a chance at a game at Wembley to see if he could knuckle down and put a shift in to deserve it.

Not trying in training isn't punishable, not turning up or turning up drunk is. Im sure Moyes isn't happy at having to roust Royston, upset the squad preparation, and throw a start to Gueye in such a big game having started so few other games. For all we know it was Osman on the left and Drenthe on the right - so the game plan got mullered as well.

If I had my way, he'd go back to Madrid now - and we'd wipe his name off the record books for ever having played for us let alone having scored.

He's a modern day VDM. And that is unforgivable. OUT OUT OUT!

Agreed, he has played so many many games, maybe he was simply exhausted from having played all prem games, carling cup games and FA Cup games, for every minute of the 90 minutes every game.

psst man hey man psst, thats right man up here, psst, yo, look at man, thats right its me speaking to you.
them eyes, keep them eyes to the skies man.

If Moyes ****ed him off after doing that once thn I'd accept there was some principle at play here and that's just the way Moyes rolls (although I wouldn't agree with it). But it isn't the first time. so no principle was being acted upon for Moyes yesterday (or the day before). It was just a bloody minded draconian decision that cost us a big change up in gear when we could have done with it.

If you're fine that with that then that's your prerogative. I'd take the pragmatic approach every time

This is why many are now done with Moyes. I dont dislike him, I've just lost respect for him. He's a titty lipped nark who cant help flexing his own ego...at all our expense now as it happenes.

Moyes has a club to run...you can't have different rules for different people. This was clearly the final straw. If Moyes allows him to play, what respect would any other player have for him?

I'm pissed at Drenthe for not have the common respect for his teammates to do what THEY all did. When you're a professional footballer on the kind of wages he's on, it's not to much to ask him to show up on time is it? He put himself above the club, and that's not acceptable for me, and never will be.

and there you have it. You continually act like an arse in ANY job and the door is the only way forward. He's done. Move on. Thanks for throwing the chance to rebuild you career back in our faces. You could've been a legend here and you blew it ye tit.

How was it a blunder im sorry but if Drenthe was persistently being naughty and breaking club rules then it was the right thing to do im behind Moyes with this one i mean in any other job if you persistently break rules you get around about 3 warnings then the sack he deserves
