Donald Trump for President Thread

Doing my head in a little bit reading about 'racist' attacks and homophobic attacks since trump was elected, all carrying his name as if it was the motivation behind it.

I'm sorry but no. Whoever is your elected leader it does not warrant you go and act in such a way. Trump has nothing to do with this, this is the scum attacking others, if they were decent people they wouldn't be attacking or robbing others. How about instead of blaming the new president, you take a look at the people and deal with that instead?

not causing it, certainly, but emboldening, perhaps?

Obamacare is a joke because of the Republicans.
Obamacare is a joke period. Republicans will put a end to it if they are wise. I can't even begin to tell you the horror stories and bureacy you have to go through

Professional rioters. Passionate to a fault. The past eight years Michigan lost jobs like no tomorrow. Detroit became a ghost town and can not pay for it's basic services no body to pay taxes. They actually had to knock down houses due to rat infestation. No wonder the blue wall collapsed all the flowery language didn't put food on the table. They saw that Clinton would be four more years of the same.

It is easy to just loosely tie them both together do you not think? The fact that the homophobia exists is the real issue, just seems to be portrayed as the direct result of Trump getting the job by the media, which i think dismisses the root cause of the issue.

when we see things like swastikas and nooses, the vast majority of us think, "that's horrifying!"

but beyond affirming once again that 'evil is bad,' some of us might proceed to the second step, which is trying to understand why these incidents all of a sudden seem to be occurring. might the references to Trump's name, and allusions or even direct quotations of things he said, perhaps provide some clues? (yes, #notallTrumplings)

obviously nobody is saying that people who were not otherwise racist/homophobic/sexist/what have you, have suddenly embraced these views only in light of recent elections. but is it such a stretch to imagine that people who have long held these views in relative silence now find their positions emboldened and reinforced? once activated, these sorts of things can spiral quickly. their "existence" is not really the issue here, but whether the character of their existence might now coalesce, become much more public, and intensify.

of course, we have to be very careful about images that appear on social media, like this one:

http://wncn.com/2016/11/10/viral-tw...idge-actually-trump-supporters-officials-say/

but somehow, the fact that "Viral Twitter photo showing ‘KKK’ on NC bridge [is] actually Trump supporters" is not so reassuring either

I'm convinced that what's put him in the WH - his arrogance, his unwavering self assurance, his "I know best" attitude, lack of political experience etc, etc.. will be his undoing. He's a demigod who'll be surrounded by yes men (and idiots like Palin). He's got so much power he won't know when to stop.

You just nailed Obama to a tee. Every one of your points is factual if referring to Obama.

Outstanding work there.i

On a side note, the above post as a very accurate representation of the left as a whole. Didn't matter when it was Obama but now that it isn't "their guy," they don't like it.

You can give them the facts TBM. Wot matter. They don't listen.

im sure there are certain issues that transcend left and right, getting intelligent people to work with trump is the key thing here...and as mentioned if he puts people like palin in then we know that isnt gonna go well

This, but sadly this is part of the standard operating procedure for progressives of the Clinton / Blair type; just look at how Corbyn has been portrayed as a violent, woman-hating antisemitic thug because of what people on twitter have said about some other people have got up to.

IIRC they were trying to do the same to Bernie Sanders during the primaries, suggesting that because there weren't that many black faces in pictures of the crowds that went to see him that it meant that he was a racist.
