You seemed to have missed the point in the cake argument. Ushers, the shop in question, stated that to make the cake would be to support a homosexual relationship. The Equality Commission argued that if you are a business that makes cakes then to bake a cake is not indicating support for the people buying the cake, it is a simple matter of business.
If a doctor is a fundamental Christian and is of the opinion that homosexuality is wrong, if he treats a gay person is he going against his beliefs because he is indicating support for homosexuality by saving a life or is he simply plying his trade.
This case got trivialized by the media, the essence of the point of law was can a business invoke a conscience clause to discriminate against a particular group of people.
