Ignoring my own injunction, so to the final which finished the 1980s. It was the only final I’ve gone to entirely without hope. I wasn’t disappointed.

I went to the WBA away game as a 9 year old and was very lucky to survive the crush exiting the ground with only bruised ribs, a similar thing happened at Barnsley when the only opened half the terrace and it became very uncomfortable before they decided to open the other half, the writing was on the wall for what was to happen at Hillsborough a few months later, grounds were a death trap back then with little thought for the fans safety..
 
Never watched that semi or the final,except for actually being at them and I wont watch them now,it was a match that should not have been played and the only game against the rs that I didnt care whether we won or not
