Could he score in a gentleman's club? He spends half his life rolling around the floor. But does work hard and keeps the ball, holds it etc.

He missed chances today but he was effective. Marcus Bent scored about 6 and we finished 4th. If we get results I couldn't care less if Dom scores.

Trouble with this is … in tight games where he is the only one that gets a chance … he will more than likely miss and cost us points.

Having a striker that can’t finish is a massive Achilles heel

I don't understand how a striker can be so poor in 1v1 situations. He's lucky we were winning 2-0 today but he's missed a handful of them already this season which is quite shocking for a stiker on his supposed level. If he scored them we would be sitting comfortably.

There isn’t even any thought in his finishes though … that’s what gets me … he literally scuffs or side foots the ball straight an the keepers legs.

He should try something else , take it round them, hit it hard and early , dink it etc

His main mistake is he runs directly at the keeper … he needs to shift the ball left or right and then shoot quickly as the gk is moving his feet … when the gk is planted and facing straight at you it’s hard to get it past them.

Lukaku and Henry have both said how they move the ball and then wait until the keeper shifts and as soon as one of his feet touches the ground they take the shot as the keeper can’t react in time as his weight is already shifting .

DCL has no idea what to do… was it villa when he was one on one and didn’t even get a shot off?

…I suspect they’ll start going in, he’s always been hit or miss and at the moment he’s very much miss. Playing very well otherwise and looking as fit and competitive as he has for a while.

It’ll be interesting how Broja gets on when he’s fit, he looks the only one who could be an improvement.

I don't think it's a confidence thing.
He freezes when he gets one on one, always has done.
It's weird for a striker.
Better when he hasn't got time to think.

His tendency at the moment to hit it low bt right at the keeper needs to be worked on. If you can't hit it low and in the corner, perhaps hit it hard and high?

Classic calvert lewin yest. Decent enough game but you can see why nobody was kicking Evertons door in to sign him. I mean they were not even half chances. You've got to be coming away from that game on the score sheet.
Thankfully it never cost us. Thats not always going to be the case.
