Judging his contribution solely on goals scored is reductive and ignores context

Thats typically true, but since hes only scored 9 non-penalty goals in 3 years, any of his other contributions are reductive and worth ignoring. Theres no amount of "doing the work" thats worth keeping a striker who scores 3 a season.

Hard to sell a player that may not want to be sold, and even harder to sell a player that no club is currently making offers to buy.

It's a forum, about 80% of what is said is speculation. I was responding to someone who said they think he'll do that and I replied saying IF that is his plan then I hope that happens.

Newcastle will win something before we do, they literally played in the CL last season, we are at least 5 years away doing such a thing.

I get it, Newcastle are funny, but they are still "ahead" of us, by a long, long way.
