Thing is, it does actually matter. Because when your striker can only score tap ins, deflections and penalties then you end up with a striker that doesn’t score for 20 games.

It will happen again next season and it will still baffle the same people.

His greatest attribute is clearly his ariel prowess.

Cole Palmer scored more headers than him this season.

The truth is, he was poor for the bulk of the season and just isn’t a great finisher.

Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson have scored more goals between them than Everton as a team have scored this season.

The fact is, DCL is the top scorer for the team with the 2nd least goals scored in the whole league.

Lol

Yes because we get penalties given to us frequently and can rely on keepers to kick the ball off of him regularly.

You're right, those four goals are definitely reasonable to assess as a normal run of goal scoring.

Don't mention that only one of the four came in open play without the keeper booting one off of him or you're getting pelters for refusing to worship at the feet of our goalscoring god.

lol

His general play over the last month and a half has been excellent. Doing what he does best - dominating in the air, bothering defenders, holding up play. Some lucky goals, some penalties, an assist in the last match. But his profile offers a lot more to a manager than say Ivan Toney when it comes to 3rd pick behind Kane and Watkins.
For the Euros it should be Solanke, but afterwards - no reason for him not to target callups.
It depends what you want out of a striker.

Do you want one you can rely on to score goals?

Or do you want one that doesn't?

Ahh yes, unlike our striker who didn't score for 20-odd games?
