It’d be interesting if one of DCLs anus lickers can provide a single metric that points to him being anything other than poor in the PL.

Effort (sprints, distance) - Doubt he’d rank anywhere

But appearances to goals is very flawed. You do acknowledge that right?

Because a player could come on as a sub for 1 minute at the end of a game game out of position and that skews the stats.

Like how people talk about DcL and his goals to games when most of his early games where as a sub and playing out wide. It’s not reflective of his quality as a striker.

Mins to goals is even worse though.

Can come on in the final 30 mins of games when the game is stretched or the opposition are chasing a goal and it makes your stats look like Ronaldo’s.

Like DCL his games per mins is like a goal ever 90 mins or something.

But then put him in a team and play him every week for 15 games and he ends up with 2 goals.

Also the apps/goals has been the measurement for years and it’s what other players are measured by so it’s only fair to use the same units when comparing players

Name one consistent goal scorer or even player we've had in recent history that has left after ONE season.

A 10 goal a season striker would be a massive upgrade on that donkey number 9, and that should he the bare minimum for a premier league striker

Our impending financial doom isn't really compatible with retaining the services of someone who scores 15 PL goals a season.

….my understanding is we’re due to pay £40m this summer for Beto and Chermiti, it would be some admission of failure if we had to buy another striker.
