At some point, we also have to use the squad whether we like it or not. Beto has shown enough to warrant starting 1 of the next 2 games. Danjuma needs some game time, especially given how knackered
McNeil and Harrison looked tonight/will become knackered.

I agree. DCL/Beto is a toss up. I want to see Beto in the team if Dom isn't scoring. At the same time, I wouldn't throw DCL under the bus just because Beto netted tonight. If you pick a player to start, you should have your reasons, so I'm sure Dyche has his - but we have a squad and nobody is undroppable. If DCL continues to shoot blanks, let's give Beto his head. At least DCL can't say he wasn't given chances.

Yeah but looking at us lad, other than ball hold up dcl hasn't added much to our squad at all don't get me wrong Beto is rusty as [Poor language removed] and I wouldn't want to rely on him for a full 90 against spurs with his experience at the moment but giving him 10-30 mins on the occasional game isn't going to do the lad wonders, he needs to start he can always be subbed off of needed but he defo needs action to get his teeth into pl, he's a big lad, when we don't have the pace to loose a defender we atleast need abit of of strength so the balls staying with us or in their net

I didn't know a goal was worth more on the scoresheet if a striker scores it as opposed to a forward. Must be some new rule introduced, it's hard to keep up.

Another that this was a game too far. Dyche will have been carefully weighing up when to give him a proper rest but obviously decided getting to a semi final was worth the risk of playing our most effective striker.

Yeah I said most effective because looking just at goals personally scored is simplistic when he creates more for others than we do for him.

Whole team looked off the pace yesterday, not just him.

Was a good bit of play by him to set up the McNeil chance which should have put us ahead.

Was winning his headers against their grocks but all game we were slow to the second ball.

Looked a bit leggy as well. Think it would have been a good opportunity to play him alongside Beto, at least for a while and to let Beto do more of the running.

We desperately struggle when we fall behind in games. When we score first, there is a a confidence and clarity in how we defend/ press the ball. When we’re chasing the game there’s a franticness about our play, this showed again last night. Instead of working the ball to wide areas to cross it in we just chuck it into the box from anywhere, Fulham’s centre backs dealt with that pretty comfortably. Same as defeats earlier in the season to Fulham,Wolves and Luton- if we concede first, it’s a real struggle.
