He's a 1-in-3 striker, always has been, always will, and that is more than good enough if we get goals elsewhere in the team. That's ~13 goals every season.

That's not bad at all seeing as most of those 11 appearances are probably just minutes here and there

I think Dom is one of those players we can debate the pros and cons of for ages, but we really miss him when he's not there.

Even if not scoring, just by being there he makes the team play higher up the pitch

From what Frank said in a press conference this week (not sure if it was the post-United or pre-Spurs), I took it as he'll not start today or for the next few.

He's not fully integrated into training yet, so why would they then ask him to play a game against an intense Spurs?

That's a relief. Save him for a game or two in the rest of the season.

I wouldn't be surprised if we only saw him start one or two games before the WC, if that. Rightfully, they're concerned he will get injured again if rushed.

That's either going to impact us in terms of performances or our chances to move him on.

I know he is. I am, however, being serious - I think we'll use him conservatively as they know his fitness is a liabilty.

And so they should. The fact Dave thinks it's absurd we don't throw in an injury prone striker into a pretty unwinnable game who he thinks is a trash player anyway is just peak Dave.

I'm surprised he's not happy he doesn't play 90 every week. Doesn't even think he's any good.

The fact is he was clearly going to be a regular England striker and high scorer for the club, he was getting better all the time. Then the big injury....
