Calvert-Blewin
Am I right?
Am I right?
I find it very hard to reconcile he’s on less money now than he was at Everton having left as a free agent - when you look at the value of the entire contract at least.Saw this article today, an interview with DCL stating he was right to leave Everton in the summer, that he needed a "fresh start". He is in a position now where he has scored 10 goals, so even if he doesnt score again this season, he will probably have scored more than Barry and Beto, so some will probably agree with him.
I think it glosses over the fact that his contract at Leeds is around £75k a week, at Everton he was on £125k a week and his agent was demanding £140k a week because there were allegedly champions league clubs interested. When he became a free agent none of these clubs seemed to materialize and he changed agents and signed with Leeds late in the window (15th August).
Probably got a fat signing bonus that more than covered it. Or his gamble to move to an unknown contract didn't pay off as expected.I find it very hard to reconcile he’s on less money now than he was at Everton having left as a free agent - when you look at the value of the entire contract at least.
Plenty online says he’s on a basic of £100k per week and is their highest paid player.
I’d imagine his basic is also fairly well topped up with appearance / availability bonuses too, that or he got a whopping signing on fee.
Would seem a very odd choice to leave £7.5m on the table over a 3 year deal (difference between what he allegedly was earning and £75k / week)
I wonder why he didn’t try us again once he got the new agent?Saw this article today, an interview with DCL stating he was right to leave Everton in the summer, that he needed a "fresh start". Probably the club was fed up with the games he and his old agent had played in the last 18 months of his contractI wonder why he didn’t try us again once he got the new agent?
See this is where I’m too nice, I would give the new agent a chance not to be a pillock before wiping my hands of Dom entirelyProbably the club was fed up with the games he and his old agent had played in the last 18 months of his contract

I bet it's a Gucci. What's the worse thing that could happen? Only get paid 75k a week? I'm sure he'll get by if he tightens his belt a little.
Equally this https://www.capology.com/player/dominic-calvert-lewin-35505/ has him on £100k + £25k bonus,Look at when he signed for Leeds, it was 15th August, he had been a free agent from 1st July and had no takers. He changed agents on 10th August and signed for Leeds 5 days later.
Sportrac has him on $5.2m, (£3.9m) which is £75k a week, he may get playing bonuses and other bonuses for goals and Leeds staying up.
