I had to put my best pal down last week (Thursday) he was almost 11yrs old, chocolate lab named Wembley. I was absolutely devastated. He got an 18m life sentence over 3yrs ago, ended up with Degenerative Myelopathy, Laringial Paralysis, Diabetes and blindness!! So all in all he did very well. Living in the USA and being now completely alone, it’s hard but I take great comfort in the fact he has a great life and enriched mine beyond any expectations! RIP Wembley.

gutted for you mate, its horrific when our little furry mates leave us. None dog lovers don't get it.

Many years ago we had a dog, just a mongrel. He was a real softy. He used to sit outside our front gate and if anyone came walking down the pavement he used to growl and bark at them. When they got within a couple of yards his tail started wagging and invariably he got a friendly stroke or pat. As they walked away, maybe four or five yards, he became the 'hard man' again, barking at them like mad. Daft as a brush he was.

We have held back on purchasing another dog - mainly due to covid plus the age we are now etc 12 months & we still miss our Nell a border collie ...

Ours got put down the other day. Missus was in bits, was truly heartbreaking.

It's a big wrench, after all they are like one of your family - wait a while & shop around if you are young enough - we made a lovely grave in her favourite spot in our garden & she will never be forgotten every one loved her ways - even the postman loved her - that's the problem with getting a dog with the same temperament in a border collie - plus with Covid prices of dogs have gone sky-high......
