Did the job he was paid to do and then we got rid. I am fine with that. We should never have been in that position anyway.

Also brought in Walcott which i am happy with. Jury is still out on Tosun but we will see.

He did what I expected he would do, that being making us a bit more organized and harder to play against. Didn't do any more than that but he did get us safe. As pointed out earlier he was given good financial backing and did have key players coming back from injury. With this in mind there is a good chance we would have gotten to mid table whether he was there or not.

Sam took a lot of stick some granted some not , Koeman and Walsh were far more culpable of a forgettable season , Sam was never long term for me but did a job he was brought in to do

Credit to him IMO -
jury is out on whether we would have been relegated or not I was highly concerned we looked like a team in free fall until he brought in some stability and discipline , 8th is not a bad position to finish with the mess he inherited

Valid criticism IMO -
lack of humility , blaming everyone else when he got it wrong , distancing himself from the supporters

No and yes

He got us out of trouble, and made some good signings. But, played some of the worse football I have had to witness.

He only had two active supporters on here ;

@Kev The Rat
@whiteshadow

Kev was living in a cardboard box and drinking turps, due to the Bitcoin crash,so he wasn't of sound mind, so he gets a walk too,

I think Whiteshadow was in the next box along and got suckered in by Kev,

Some of my posts ...

Depends if we can get a better manager in. If we can we should get rid of him.

With the Allardyce hate mob you're either 110% in it or a Sam loving fool who needs to be hounded out from expressing any opinions that aren't filled with personal insults or over the top views on him.

Don't say he's improved us 3 or 4 places?

Why? It's true, wether you like it or not.

He's also bought in Walcott and Tosun who have been good signings.

We're not playing great but we've stopped getting smashed by poor teams and we're organised better, even if we play too negatively.

The truth is we were in danger of going down, despite half the forum trying to make out we were always going to stay up.

A lot of fans thought it and the board agreed, which was shown by their appointment of Allardyce.

He hasn't been great and I hope he goes but I don't feel the need to ignore any positives he has or rewrite history in order to back up my beliefs.

Our team is woeful and has been under 3 different managers.

I don't want him to stay but Fonseca or whichever manager you want in would struggle to create chances with our team. The players aren't good enough, although I agree we should play more positively.

The argument isn't if we're playing great football, it was wether he has improved us. The fact that people have to start changing subject shows that even they know he has improved us in some ways, even if they can't admit it.

Just because you don't take personal digs at a manager and are prepared to admit he did some good things doesn't mean you support him. The BFS hate mob would class anyone who said anything he did being positive as a supporter.

Nice story though. lol
