Dissent against Moyes, when?

I think that's fantasy myself. Aside from our 3 glory years in the 80's our league finishes weren't startling since the League winning side of 1970.

To suggest that we should be "expecting" better is delusional imo. We should be striving to be the best we can be, & in the current era until somone chooses to bestow half a Billion £'s on us, realistically we're never going to challenge for the title. Talk about ambition & try & point the finger of 'blame' for this fact wherever you like mate, but it'll still remain a fact.

I'm not suggesting we should win the league every year. I'm stating that for all bar a few generations of Evertonian going into the season with a realistic chance was accepted and expected. Crowing about essentially mid table finishes is where the evidence of managed decline of expectations as well as the club as a business starts.

The Moyes haters probably pissed off we have started and are playing so well that they begin discussing the times when people turned on Moyes. Its like Kopites constantly reliving their past glories because they currently have none.

2 games in and Moyes's name has been chanted very vocally at both games. Some of you lads must be gutted.

Congratulations. Most embarrassing thread i have seen since i was on kipper.

Don't be a drama queen. Most embarrassing post ever.

Listening to him on the radio the other night after the Villa win gives us a 6 point start and he says in answer to a question about fan expectations: "Evertonians have no great expectations. I dont think that's an issue as far as they're concerned".

He's right. A decade of his mate Kenwright - and his putting up with not having funds to push on - has just about snuffed out expectations beyond staying comfortably in the PL.

The Kenwright/Moyes years needs to be seen for what it is: managed decline.

" Managed decline", Jesus wept, how old are you?

He fails at beating the ****e, last season we had the better side yet he was scared to take to them and did the usual side back and hope we don't lose

my main problem with moyes is when we get into europe, he consistently bottles it away from home with over the top negative tactics.

Maybe if we get into europe next season, he may have learnt from his mistakes>?

I like the man, he just let's me down now and then (mostly against Liverpool). Not his fault we don't have a pot to piss in either.

The Moyes-out brigade doesn't really exist outside of the internet. The internet is well known for concentrating and crystallising idiocy, so you see these sort of absurdly contrarian positions all the time. It is expected.

Moyes frequently comes in for criticism and rightly so (from Blues), although I admit his bullet-proof status with the national media can get irritiating. Moyes out though? Please.

I think most sane people realise that Moyes has his good points and bad points. Unfortunately message boards and forums are an easy outlet for the less sane to spout their propoganda, whether positive or negative. And there are also a lot of posters, who will make a ridiculous statement, again this could be positive or negative, then rather than admit they are wrong, will back their argument up with even more ridiculous statements.
The other issue is that in general, the population has the attention span of a gnat and needs constant stimulation - there is no time to sit back and make a reasoned judgement, it must be the first thing that comes into their head, hence the extremely polarising views.

The Moyes out brigade mightnt be hardcore enough to start venting their splean at the match. It's not necessarily the case that they're all tinterweb demons.

Us Evertonians do have a tendency to become a bit reserved, almost conservative at times. Other clubs' fans are the whoppers who go on marches and start waving white hankies to oust their gaffer/board.

We tend to be a bit more, "meh", about it, and mumble and grumble under our breath at the match.

Interesting that some are taking a swipe at others because they think 5/6/7 place in the EPL is an achievement in the current football world, then in the next breath they proclaim the reason they've lost it with Moyes is because we don't beat one other Club.

IRONY alert.
