Dissent against Moyes, when?

So it does.

Though i liked the anne rice bit.

I remember a star wars book years ago by michael stackpole that was called i, jedi.... But that might've been too obscure.

He could also be a member of a group of people who enjoy wearing headgear made by apple

I actually quite like the way that even though every member of the press praise Moyes as if he is infalliable, we the people who watch him week in week out are not afraid to call him on his mistakes and failings. The guy has done a cracking job without question, but he still has faults, he still makes mistakes and we are realisitic to call that and challenge it. I don't know many at all who 'hate him', I know plenty who get frustrated with him, maybe sometimes harshly but that is only human. He is too cautious sometimes and he does retreat at the most ridiculous times (semi final being the most obvious examples - but throughout his time here there have been plenty of other examples, I remember a City home game and a Spurs home game, both last minute defensive retreats costing us games, which highlighted this). I believe our supporters actually keep him on his toes, we do let him know when we aren't happy, nad that is a healthy relationship.

If we all followed blindly and praised him as the next messiah even though he has obvious failings and refused to criticise him and acknowledge those failings, well, there is another band of supporters who do that, and it is frankly cringeworthy and is actually an extremely unhealthy relationship which inevitably leads to disaster...say no more.

Here here mate. You've basically read my mind and put it in writting. He's been almost untouchable according to a lot of toffees I know, but I've been quite critical of him over the years.

He is negative too often, team selections that baffle and can sit on his hands when subs/tactical changes are need. Many other teams fans don't see this and are constantly focused on "doing well with very limited resources". It all stems from the need for the next big manager (or man u manager if you want to say it), and so they add weight to ability where it's not qualified.

He does make a lot of mistakes (anichebe wide right! Anichebe at all!), but he is learning. He is getting better. He still has a lot to learn, but let's face it, would you rather he go somewhere else and improve?

I haven't been his biggest fan, but I'm glad he's our manager.

Now Kenwrong is another kettle of fish............

During the 2003/04 season after the Wolves away defeat three players went into Moyes' dressing room demanding answers.

Not going to put any names up, but I know this happened for sure.

If you want to find out who it was, 2 of them were dropped for the next game, which I think was Bolton at home.

Bizarre thread about a bizarre topic.

Of course there are doubters...but haters? They are most definitely in a minority as far as I'm concerned, and having witnessed every one bar two of his home games since he arrived and a good chunk of aways too including Europa games, I've seen or heard very, very little dissent from match-going Blues.

Only my opinion of course, but I think he has done a remarkable job here. Yes, he is or has been tactically niaive at times but find me a manager who hasn't. Too much politics involved in a lot of the discussions about Moyes...the distrust of the Chairman distorts some views of Moyes as does his salary. Both have no bearing for me on whether he is a good manager or bad manager for Everton.
We could have Mark Hughes.......................

Never heard that before.. Interesting and surprising

Are you sure that they weren't dropped because they played badly ? Was it their errors that led to the defeat ? We had some awful players that season

There, thank you.

As mentioned in my OP, I didn't go to the match during his early years and even today I manage 10-12 games a season at a push so it's good to know the opinion of those that are there week in/week out.

Simple answers to a simple question, not sh*t stirring like some posters seem to think here (falling hook, line & sinker about criticism of Moyes being a taboo, me thinks).

Some good responses here, to those who have caught the jist of where i'm coming from, cheers.

I love moyes... Were very lucky to have him just as he's very lucky to have us.

He makes mistakes as all managers do and should not be amune to criticism BUT you do get a minority of haters who want him out and think the grass is greener elsewhere. Ridiculous really but Iv learnt to just discard there comments and not get sucked into there world.

You are wrong.

Ive never, ever heard anybody **** Moyes off at the game.

But carry on with your agenda filled bile thread against the greatest Manager in the World.

He enjoys mugging you all off.

We were all singing his name when we were beating Villa on Saturday. Hurry up and sign a new contract Moyes!

The only time I really lost faith in him was the Spurs game at GP when he brought Tony Hibbo on instead of Vaughany when it was 1-1 and we lost the game. He had settled for a point when Jol went for the win. I've never heard such a bad reaction from the crowd towards DM as that night .

Same here, we were playing terribly at the time as well, if I recall correctly. I genuinely didn't think he would be at Everton for much longer after that.

Thank christ he is.

Spurs at home when he went ultra defensive and we ended up getting beat (Jenas scored I think) was the first time I'd ever seen Goodison turn against him. I think that's when his cloak of invincibility slipped a bit.

Bar the 3-0 last year I don't think there has ever been another event where the vast majority of us where fuming with him. I've even heard a load of people defending what happened at Wembley.

The truth is bar the odd isolated incident he's very well liked by the rank and file. What you see on the forums(the majority of which is valid IMO, just a bit OTT) doesn't represent the reality at the ground or in the pubs.

For me it'd need to be something catastrophic for GP to turn and stay turned.
