No, i think Sporting bought the remaining amount out recently, so they owned him outright.

Ok.

Sounds like Everton stepped in and basically gave him a club while his parents decided to move back to England for a spell. Now he's of age it's decided he'll move back to Sporting.

I cant believe Everton have paid for that 'priviledge'.

From what i can tell, Lisbon bought out the third party ownership so they could then raise the price to Everton. i think lcab once said the fee was agreed, but that was before the third party rule ( Tevez? ) and shiz happened.

I may be wrong.

They wanted 6m to turn it permanent a year ago so don't know how much they want now but it will be that why he's not staying.

Expect him to be snapped up by one of the leading lights shortly. United were watching him.

As I said when the details of the loan were made clear, it just makes no sense at all.

We've essentially paid for a Lisbon player to have a good training experience.

It's a strange one. I imagine that he wanted to play in England and we thought by training him that he might choose us and that Sporting could let us have him cheaply as a thankyou. He's ready for first team football now though. He'll get nowhere near our starting eleven and it's not as if we can loan him on ourselves, so we've reached an impasse. Maybe we'll see him again in the future?

Look at this way, he will have been made promises, to increase his development under a leading club and youth academy, he has spent two years and has never even made the bench from my knowledge.

For Spurs.

I was gutted about the release of players like Mark Hughes (not the QPR manager), Lukas Jutkiewicz, Orenuga and Forshaw in recent times. This just adds to the growing list of players with 'potential' who are binned without a chance.

2007–2009 Northampton Town 93 (4)
2009–2010 Walsall 26 (1)
2010–2011 North Queensland Fury 30 (4)
2011– Bury 26 (1)

Lukas Jutkiewicz
2005–2007 Swindon Town 38 (5)
2007–2010 Everton 1 (0)
2008 → Plymouth Argyle (loan) 3 (0)
2009 → Huddersfield Town (loan) 7 (0)
2009–2010 → Motherwell (loan) 33 (12)
2010–2012 Coventry City 67 (18)

Theres a reason they are binned, I will give you a clue, it ryhmes with cash.

Moyes record on released young players is faultless.
