Happy Birthday Derek, a smashing player and an absolute gentleman. I grew up in Dovecot.in the days when footballers still lived in corpy houses. Derek was.a.neighbour of ours and was.never to busy or important to sign an autograph for us local kids or chat about the game. Legend, never forget Wembley 1966.

....around the mid-70s Dave Hickson asked me to play in a charity game and I was fortunate to have Derek Temple as a teammate. What amazed me was his enthusiasm. Him and I were first changed and he was really keen to get out on the pitch for the warm up. He was an old fella then but such a lovely clean striker of a football.
