Derby - Win, Lose or Draw ?

Our home record against them is still poor even allowing for their referees.

It's not as utterly appaling as our away record against them but it's still not great.

It is. But if you take out the atkinson derby it doesn't look as bad in recent terms.

I think we should be going into this as optimistic as we have been for every other game. They have never been so poor, Moyes, despite his own limitations, will know this.

That's fair enough, anyone expecting us to do anything at Anfield is kidding themselves but we've got results against them at Goodison before even with Moyes. A win wouldn't shock me.

We've had the more talented team for a few seasons. It just doesn't convert, though.

I always think our midfield disappears in derbies, leaving the defence too much to do. Also, Gerrard always seems more up for it and scores or creates. Our defence is uncertain enough these last few games without the RS having free runs at them.
Neither team is playing that badly at the moment, but failing to turn chances into goals and letting goals in that they shouldn't.

So, nullify Gerrard, play a midfield that will pick up runners and we have enough quality to score a goal or two. IMO we can not play Neville and Osman in centre mid. We need Distin. I'd love us to play 4-4-2 at home to these but we wont.

Kev and Jelly up front. Felli and Gibson centre park.

My money is also on an RS sything into Fellaini.

I'd go for Jags and Distin for this. Don't 100% trust Heitinga. Not slating the lid, it's just an opinion. I will be gutted of we don't have Fellaini for this. Seeing him tear Allen a new one in midfield in front of a world audience would be nothing short of orgasmic.

Unfortunatley, that is the exception and not the rule.
