Bit shocked at that news to be honest. Whats he got to gain from going there? I know some say play for as long as you can, but he looked like he was being groomed for a coaching role.

Not having a go at him, he's a blue without a shadow of doubt, but he's never struck me as particularly intelligent based on some of his views and decisions and this just backs up that belief. I honestly thought we could have kept him for another year after this, good for team morale and good to have experience about. Not only that, I'd would have loved him to play in the anfield derby and get our revenge.

Good luck to him, but a very stupid decision from him if you ask me.

Phil Neville? Who is also starting right back, back up midfielder, back up right winger, back up left back etc.

The only way I can understand this beyond sentimental reasons from Moyes is that we are about to buy a centre back. If not, then [Poor language removed] me if Lescott and /or jags get injured and we have to **** about with youth players or valente at centre back partnering neville - and as a consequence get chucked out of europe or 4th place.


Utterly mystified. How small can this squad get?

Please tell me that van buyten or just [Poor language removed] anyone is coming in to replace stubbs as defensive cover.

Not for me. Moyes knows a hell of a lot more about this job than any of us. I am sure, with him being ultra-conservative, there is a plan in place.

As others have said, we are very short at the back right now. But hey ho, I doubt Stubbsy would have got much game time for the rest of the season.
 

Remember Gosling was tearing the Championship up. It is quite feasible that surrounded with quality players he will cope just fine. Same thing with Jack Rodwell.
 
THought it was only a rumour, and it came true!! Noooo, no more pile drivers, but why sell him now? when we only have 2 centre defenders?!

Dom we let him go on a free again and to a rival (for the short term) in the prem
 
I've spoken with my mate, he is as gobsmacked as I am. He palyed golf with him last week, no mention of anything. he did meet with the gaffer and I can only speculate that no long term guarantees were given re backroom staff so he's upped. IMO he has made one bloody big mistake, this time he can do one if he has gone in a fit of pique, watch this space
