Derby Buildup: Evertonian writes "Liverpool deserved their success"

Did Liverpool deserve their successes, at the expense of Everton, in the 70's & 80's?

The RS stopped deserving anything after the infamous 'Liverpool are magic, Everton are tragic' St George's Hall. And I don't care what Thompson says it was Hughes, Thompson and McDermott that sung that night. Until that day most Evertonians had a begrudging admiration for their achievements, hence the number of blues at St George's hall, and the large amount of boos and scuffles, after that day things changed for me. They deserved nothing but contempt and it was noticeable that it was only Hughes that apologised, it never came from the club.

Liverpool have never won the League since the Back-pass law was introduced

To point out all the occasions the horrible tits got lucky or a bent ref pulled them out the shiit would be churlish, so I wont.

Edit - It weren't really at our expense either, the majority.

This, plus 3 things
i) the stuff they may have done us out of post heysal
ii) In real terms they've not done much post heysal

iii) the main killer is the way they've managed to con the world in to still thinking they are contenders

rs; you always get exactly what it says on the tin

Your interpretation of this thread is...interesting.

The question: "Did Liverpool deserve their success?" Is a question with one obvious answer. There's no debate to be had. I don't see what the discussion is going to be on. You're either going get Evertonians stating the obvious that yes, they deserved it, or chatting complete tosh and making themselves look extremely bitter and simple. I don't see the point.

Well yeah, this.

Right on. I guess I was alone in my fume at seeing those words written by an Evertonian.

Correct.

Boring, dour, attrition football they poisoned the English game with.

With the exception of someone like McDermott who was a genuine talent, they were mind-numbing. They've had the greatest propaganda machine in football since then churning out nonsense about how good they were. They weren't. They were a miserable dead weight sitting on top of football.
