Yes he was a crap footballer. Yes he played as if he had just been plucked from the crowd, BUT he played as if he was a die hard Evertonian plucked from a snarling Gwladys Street.
The difference being, that John Spencer et al. played as if they had been plucked from the kop.

Thought that was a great header, the cross was rubbishly floating away from goal at a snail’s pace and he had to generate all the power in it to get it back across the keeper. Looked hilarious though, I’ll give you that.

He has, but we all knew Big Denis was a very short term answer and we accepted his inability to play the togger properly.

DCL away to city when we drew 1-1 was brilliant up front on his own.
Strange how we gravitate to an underdog. Like a few have already said, most were drawn to his passion and apparent empathy for us.
