He was a decent lad and his honesty shows in the interview. Says nice things bout Everton 'an all.... not like that flute Drenthe.

And yes, that City game he was boss, ran his town halls off and was like he was playing 3 games at once. Miss that passion and will to impress.

It's a discussion forum Mikey.. I'm just sharing my opinion

You said yourself mate that you don't want threads like this, so instead of just ignoring the thread like a normal person would do, you've decided to come in and harsh everyone's buzz so that you can make yourself the center of attention. It's not a flattering look for you mate in all honesty. It's actually kind of sad

Not at all. Who's stolen the jam out of your doughnut Mikey??!!

I think its lovely that he commends us so nicely in the article. Thanks for your efforts Denis.

I know some *cough* @ijjysmith *cough* don't like the fact that some supporters still think fondly of Stracq, because he wasn't any good and why should a player who wasn't any good have a cult following?

To me, I just appreciate how much Stracq appreciated playing for Everton. To him it really seems like one of the highlights of his career, and that passion is infectious. Yes, he wasn't a great player, but he was a good lad who gave his all in that Blue shirt, and I appreciate him for that

He played a huge part in that win over City in in 11/12 as well. The eventual Champions didn't know what to do with him. I basically love that

@ijjysmith is an utter knobhead though so there's that to take into consideration

Nice read, that. He’s an embodiment of where we were at the time - Shopping in the bargain bin and hoping that, if you couldn’t play, you gave it your all anyway.

Brings into sharper relief the money we’ve wasted prior to the season just gone. When players aren’t so desperate to impress they invariably don’t put near as much graft in.

As someone in here has already said (CBA trawling back a whole two pages for a quote...), Big Marcel needs to bring us players with this work ethic but that can, y’know, play footy.

Brilliant article. Remember him as clear as day, being absolutely made up when he bagged that goal against Chelsea.

I guess shows how good a job Moyes done, finished 7th when our first choice striker managed just two goals all season.
