2025/26 David Moyes

Yes, defo.

He's all about expectation management. He'll never change.

The biggest miss-step taken so far by TFG was to hand him a 2 year deal. He should have been thanked for last season then shown the door.

Yeh would have been class that. Going into a new stadium with a depleted squad in need of massive change and a new manager trying to get used to everything. Recipe for disaster.

So very predictable. A draw away to table topping Sunderland is treated as a loss. Didn't capitalise on the pressure we'd made first half, cop a deflected equaliser and it flattened the life out of us. All on Moyes, changes didn't change much of anything, and N'diaye hobbling off was a kick in the knickers. Still, call it from the rafters, Moyes out, some other johnny come lately is this weeks divine answer. Same old same old.

"Thanks for the top 6 form, quite the turn around, but it's no thanks from here, 19 players about to be turned over and a few OOC in the air, you've got a tune out of em but we're going to go with option unknown, see how being manager-less does for our transfer window..."

Ha Ha Ha. Thanks for that response. It underlines how clueless you are.

Barry got a stupid, reckless booking and wasn’t having a great game, if he got subbed then it’s on him.
Don't get me wrong, it wasn't an unfathomable sub or anything, but the issue for me is that you know exactly when he decided to do that - after Barry had lost the ball with his back to goal about 40 yards from our goal. It's like a petulant reaction to just haul him off because you're annoyed with him rather than a considered idea where you're taking him off because you think it's the right tactical move. This is the issue we're having all season, we just start one of them then drag them off when it doesn't go well and expect the player replacing them to do better for no reason other than them just being someone else. In some games i've thought that was fair, because the player starting has been so bad that you genuinely think the sub can't actually be any worse, but last night I didn't think that was the case. Barry had done OK, nothing more than that, but OK. There was very little to suggest Beto would offer more, and he absolutely didn't when it came to it.

Im more then happy to give all this time.

Ultimately since Palace we've got a point from games against 2nd, 4th and 6th in the table.

Redflags all over the show that i wont igone though, its the lack of cohesion in the side - i dont see any developing partnerships or patterns or understanding happening, each line or player seems alien to the other. We are compensating at key positions full backs, up front and at centre midfield as well. while the players look lacking in confidence and belief to me.

Look, i think it deserves time, i wouldn't underestimate the big job of work in recovery - we've consistently not invested int he squad in years while also selling and not replacing our bet players - that damage is going to take a bit of time to work through.

Last thing we need is another reboot, before Moyes contract runs out.

DM bringing on Dwight was so DM. Dwight cannot run past a bus stop but he might deliver a decent corner and maybe Keane could head it in. That is DM- Think at its best. No matter that you have a winger who needs to get a run and who cost 40 million.
I like DM because he can manage a team but he lacks in-game management skills and he has odd favorites.

They are both not helping themselves but Moyes is partly to blame.

Pick one of them and go with it for 5 games, at least try and get some confidence or consistency into them.

Barry looks worse than Niasse for me.
At no point in any game does look like hes going to score, not his fault but he looks way out of his depth.

Moyes didn't put a reducer on N'Diaye. Either McNeil is a good squad option (was starting for us last season) and needs minutes to get into gear or there's another problem. Wunderkind Dibling was pursued hard and paid for, this is the same Moyes that coddled Rooney.

2 years ago and before we couldnt do anything regarding the team selections but now we can.

We have options in personnel and system to change it and for some reason he (Moyes) wont.
Why arent Rohl Dibling and Alcaraz getting a shot?
JOB is a massive hinderance a RB
If hes going to play Barry then get crosses in the box from the byline, instead we have both wingers who cut inside and no overlapping FBs
If he picks Beto get Alcaraz in the side to slide him through which he is very effective at
Put Dibling in the #10 and drop KDH
Play 3 at the back and have Garner and Myko as WBs

Lots of things he could try that wouldnt be outrageous.

Tbf to Beto, there have been games where he has come on and been effective (Palace for example), so it was a logical change. I’ll accept it doesn’t help Barry’s confidence, but the lad doesn’t do himself any favours.

He just about did enough to start the next match though.

But we all knew Moyes would do this
