We had some great games this season, and Moyes got it right on lots of occasions, but I think he got away with a lot as a result of having Branthwaite fit for that period after Christmas when we picked up a lot of points to get us in that ‘fight’ for Europe. If Kinnear and the board set the goal of fighting for Europe and having a cup run, then you could argue that Moyes failed on both of those, so surely for any board wanting to push for success that is enough to replace him.

All too friendly in those press conferences. When he gave that blunt no to understanding Evertonians being disappointed the journalist should have pushed back. Instead, he knew Moyes wasn't happy so quickly moved on.
