He wants out.
1. Having a pop at TFG a few days ago, questioning their ambition. He never did that with Kenwright. Think of the summers he literally had no money.
2. Those two last performances of the season were absolutely dog turd. After Sunderland he downplayed how bad it was, thought we were the better team. Even after today’s game, he wasn’t that scathing. Just not Moyes for me. He would have known the last 2 weeks wasn’t good enough, and he’s normally fairly honest.
3. Generally with Moyes, after last week, you would expect some sort of response. Today was arguably worse than the Sunderland game, just no effort or intensity, which is the minimum for any Moyes team.
4. Feels like an element of “sod you” with his team selections. Even his most staunch defenders were saying he should make changes today. Swapping Barry for Beto doesn’t really cut it. Very much the stubborn Moyes.
5. His comments after the game absolutely indicate he’s off for me. To come out same day he doesn’t understand why the fans are dissatisfied with the end of the season is absolutely tin eared. 3 points in 21?
That would have gone down like a led balloon with the ownership. Just acknowledging the disappointment, say I’m not satisfied either. There are one million things you could say. But being dismissive towards the supporters just won’t work. If he wants to be here next season, you don’t antagonise them. He could get away with it under Kenwright but not now.
For me, he knows he isn’t getting renewed, knows he won’t have total control of transfers, and wants the payout. It’s Dyche part 2.
