2025/26 David Moyes

De Zerbi is talking about building a dream team of top top players from back to back 17th place finishes.

Our manager is saying we can’t spend 200 mill but we can ‘go again’ next season. To what? 12th?

Just ZERO ambition at the club. It’s a carcass. A husk of a football team.
The legacy of Kenwright. We actually unironically brought his unambitious man from the past back in and expected different results. He still runs the club from the grave.

What’s surprised me the last 2 months is the complete reluctance to rotate the squad. Like, most modern managers have different players and tactics to suit the opposition, whereas Moyes doesn’t. If he was a bit braver and used the squad a bit more we maybe could have picked up a few more points and ended the season a success.

I’ve always been on the side of keeping him but the way the season has fizzled out is so frustrating, can anyone be arsed with another season of that.

Delusional came across to me

Because he was idolised during the Kenwright years and perhaps that remains the case with some supporters. Hes a snide.

Read again his comments when he first rejoined and then read back his comments the latter half of this season.

All he’s doing is simply what the club, some fans and media do, deflect and bring up worst case scenarios and situations, to simmer criticism and any sense of expectation.

When first came back his comments were the only time he never spoke about the club as if it was a lower league team

Could give Moyes a billion quid. He’d still play away at the top 6 in exactly the same way. He fundamentally doesn’t believe Everton deserve to be up there with those teams. He’ll be pleased with a 1-0 loss there.
Moyes sometimes reminds me of the coach from Waterboy who cowered against the big clubs. We need Bobby Boucher to turn us around.

The only thing he had to do, at any point post Chelsea, was to "go for it". He never did. He picked the same negative team and deployed the same negative tactics and had the same negative subs. He does ANY of that and, I would bet a significant amount of money, the large % of supporters would be happy to keep him.

But he didn't. Because David Moyes NEVER "goes for it". He plays for the draw and hopes for the win.

His attitude there screams that  HE doesn't believe that Everton could/shiuld compete in the upper top-half.

That is his view of Everton, how on earth can he be the man to lead us to anything other than 8 - 14?

Or just some young talent who's studied all the Moyeses of the game and knows how to beat them. Like all things, football goes forward not backwards. New managers train on old managers tricks and then some

We'll not get anywhere with him because he is like a pig in sh!t at 40+ pts. He loves it there

Our best run of games was during AFCON or when a favourite player went down with injury. He was forced to change and it worked.
