2025/26 David Moyes

Somehow (with oddball disciples) he has managed to portray himself since his return as the only option for this club, the return of the king, expecting everyone's gratitude, so much so that he shouldn't be questioned or held to account. Well this season has been a massive disillusionment, but wasn't the writing on the wall in the first game at Leeds, where he put his own petulant ego before the club. I know a new stadium has often been a bit of a millstone for a club, but in our case I fully believe he has completely f****d up this historic chapter in our history.
In the end, results speak for themselves and he has obviously failed to progress in both the league and the cups - before you even begin to ponder the quality of the football. The end, surely?
He was alright at first, seemed to understand the job and was genuinely happy to be back. Knew he wouldn't be here that long etc but got a chance to right a few wrongs from when he left.

He is undoing all that by being his biggest fan again.

he inher
Coasting by on not being quite as crap as Dyche, and relying on the PTSD of fans making them terrified to call for change on the off-chance we appoint someone crap.

Fact is we ended the season in relegation form, with the manager having a couple of very blatant digs at the players. We don’t have the resources to make the number of changes needed if he wants a squad of 25 he trusts to use in its entirety, so getting rid feels like a no-brainer. Of course, it doesn’t seem like we will so I’m going on record now as saying I have genuine relegation fears for next year
he inherited a championship winning squad at united (albeit one that Fergie couldnt believe won) and was miserable
It's an entertainment business and having watched 25 games this season, I havent been entertained very much

What i mean about knee jerk is theres no point sacking him if theres no succession plan in place.

As i said i dont want to sack him then we spend 2-3 weeks twiddling our thumbs. Only to be looking at managers like victor Pereira or nuno.

Nah, id rather keep moyes then that.
Unless you are a utter shambles of a club there should always be a succession plan, in fact most modern clubs have multiple succession plans for different scenarios.

If we've invested all this money into the non playing staff like we have done, and they don't have a succession plan for a manager as average as David Moyes, then we should all be very worried.

He’s one of the main reasons we have been a nothing club for the past 20 years. He’s been in charge for 13 of them. One absolute miserable loser. I can’t stand him.
The owners have always had the power to hire and fire him. If anything they’re to blame. Particularly Kenwright who would never have done such a thing given he kept us punching above our financial weight

I’d rather not keep him but yes I agree with that sentiment, if we do get rid I want someone in the chair doing a press conference within a day or two
This is the one point of the year you can take your time though. Nothing happens now for a couple of weeks. It's the ideal time to change manager. I wouldn't go as far as saying there's no rush but we could easily take 2 or 3 weeks and be fine.

Everton seem to prefer the January transfer window when the team are 18th to make a change though.

Same
Need someone lined up already
Thing is we may end up sacking him mid season with no good options because we are a club that is incapable of learning from our mistakes
